The Sugar-Free Tartar Sauce/Spread


I wanted to make my own tartar sauce, with no sugar, and I combined the following flavors, for an exquisite taste on their own. The taste is enhanced once it is stored, covered, in the refrigerator. This recipe will yield one cup, and can be used as a seafood dip, a sandwich spread, or even as a French fry dip. Serving size is same as that of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon. Here we go…..

1 cup good quality mayonnaise
1 tablespoon dill (not sweet) relish
1 teaspoon dried chives
1 teaspoon dried chopped onions
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Pinch of cayenne pepper

Mix all ingredients together. Store covered, in refrigerator, for a couple of hours, for flavors to marry. Depending on your taste buds, you can add a little salt if you wish. Just try it first, because it may be unnecessary. That’s it ! Enjoy!
