Step 1- Boil your water, and make your pasta, while your sauce is cooking.
1 box whole wheat thin spaghetti
pasta pot strainer
Cook spaghetti according to directions on box.
Step 2- Cook your meat, make your sauce, while your pasta water is boiling.
1 pound ground beef
1 pound Italian Sausage links (in this recipe, I used Winn Dixie Italian Sausage, made in the store)
1 teaspoon Kosher salt
fresh cracked pepper
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon dried chopped onions
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon ground bay leaves
(2) 14.5 ounce cans DICED-NO SALT tomatoes
(1) 14.5 ounce can DICED-regular tomatoes (meaning, with salt)
2 tablespoons Splenda (or sugar)
fry pan with lid
Place all ingredients except for tomatoes and Splenda (or sugar), in your pan, with 1/2 cup water, on medium high heat, and cover with lid. Cook for about 10 minutes. Break ground beef apart. Cover and cook for another 5 minutes. Remove and slice links into small rounds and place back into your pan (keep pan covered while you are cutting links). Add tomatoes and Splenda (or sugar), and mix well, and cook on medium setting for another 10 minutes, letting all of your flavors marry. That’s it !!! You are done !!! Enjoy over your favorite pasta !!!!
