The Grilled Hamburger

The great old Grilled Hamburger. You can enjoy this with, or without, bread, and with, or without cheese, dressed any way you want it. We prefer our hamburgers on bun, with mixed greens lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup, and sometimes onions. This recipe is very easy to make, and cooks in under 14 minutes, depending on how you want your burger cooked. This recipe is for (4) 4-5 ounce burgers (you start off with about 6 ounces per person, but once it is cooked, it may be either around 4-5 ounces per person, which is about 1/4 pound per serving). Here we go…..

1 1/2 pounds of ground sirloin (that’s about 24 ounces of meat)

salt (use sparingly), pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika (use sparingly)

Worcestershire sauce (Did you know that one of the ingredients in this delicious seasoning is anchovies? Please be careful if you are allergic to seafood.)

Preheat grill to medium/high. Lightly sprinkle ground meat with dry ingredients above. Add about 10 dashes of Worcestershire sauce, and mix well. Form 4 patties, and place on grill. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium/rare, and about 6-7 minutes on each side for medium/well. Because all grills vary in temperature, please either us a meat thermometer, or gently cut in the middle of one of the burgers to test for doneness (I always eat the one I cut into, so my guests get the pretty ones…LOL). That’s it !! Enjoy with your favorite toppings !!!
